College Football Futures 2024: Playoff, Heisman best bets

2024 college football futures that every bettor should consider.

With the 2024 college football season approaching, it’s time to start looking at the betting landscape.

Every season, there are teams that Vegas misses on or greatly undervalues. Now, we are taking a stab at the teams and players with favorable odds entering the season.

Let’s dive in.

National Championship Winner

Oregon +800

Oregon is my “regardless of price” team. This team feels set for a run at the Big 10 championship and is my favorite to win the playoff this year.

The only downside of this pick is that they did not get any favors with their schedule. Oregon must play a good Boise State team, Ohio State, at Michigan, and a style clash at Wisconsin. Picking up 2 losses and getting left out of the playoff is a real concern, but this team has one of the most complete rosters in the country and a coach and scheme I believe in.

Dillion Gabriel is going to put up video game numbers and as you will see later, I think he is live to win the Heisman this year.

Jordan James should finally get the workload he deserves and Tez Johnson, Kris Hutson, and Traeshon Holden are all difference-makers at receiver. Any team will struggle to put up as many points as Oregon and I can see them running good teams like Michigan out of the building.

Getting the team that may be the best in college football for +800 feels like stealing.

Ole Miss +1500

No fanbase should be more excited that the College Football video game came out this year than Ole Miss. The Rebs have the perfect video game roster and now they are going to get a real chance to make a 12-team playoff.

Their schedule sets up nicely for them to have a shot at losing just one game (Georgia) and I can’t see a world where a one-loss SEC team gets left out of a 12-team playoff.

They do play LSU on the road, but I am not buying into this LSU team and if they can navigate a manageable conference schedule (Kentucky, Oklahoma, and at South Carolina) then they should be able to make the playoff.

If we get them to the playoff then we can start having some cashout fun depending on their draw. This team is going to be a lot for opposing teams to figure out in a playoff setting.

Jaxson Dart and Tre Harris is going to be one of if not the deadliest QB/WR combo in football this year. They are also bringing in a stable of running backs (Ulysses Bentley, Logan Diggs, and Henry Parrish) that could all carry the load for an entire season or rotate to find the hot hand.

Getting +1500 feels like getting a little value as I would have them in the +1200 range.

Alabama +1500

Kalen DeBoer was a homerun hire for a team trying to replace a coaching legend.

DeBoer injects creativity and energy into a rinse-and-repeat cycle of talent that should have college football fans scared of what might be coming in Tuscaloosa.

I understand why people may be off Jalen Milroe, but I am not one of them. When you have someone with elite talent on the move, you give yourself so many more option of what you can do as an offense. Having a mind like DeBoer with an athlete like Milroe might be enough to put numbers that we haven’t seen before. Jam Miller will be an elite running back this season and having players like Kendrick Law, Germie Bernard, and Kobe Prentice in space is going to be a nightmare for teams to deal with.

I have this team in the +800 range, so getting them at +1500 feels like a steal of an opportunity. One of the best brands, talents, coaches, and quarterbacks. Sign me up.
