College Football: Week 1 Betting Guide

The college football slate in week 1 presents plenty of opportunities to make a profit.

For tracking purposes, 1 unit will be equal to $100.

College football is back and there is no better time to make money than during the fall!

As always, never bet more than what you feel comfortable with, but feel free to join us on the journey this season and see if we can have as profitable of a year as we did last season!

Week 1 Starting Money: $1000

Money Line Madness

Week 1 is a tricky spot every year. There are new coaches, new players, and new schemes across the board, and trying to predict roles can be a difficult task. For our first bet of the new season, I will be sticking to the teams I feel most comfortable with and their money line while not trying to hit spreads.

The game of the week is a top-15 matchup between Georgia and Clemson.

I personally do not understand the Clemson hype this season and I think Georgia could win this in an embarrassing fashion.

Another team that I like entering week one is Virginia Tech. They really seemed to figure things out down the stretch last year and they get to open against a below-average Vanderbilt team. This is another game that I think can get away from the underdog quickly.

I am not sure how to evaluate this USC team coming into this year and if they were opening against any other conference than the SEC then I would stay away from them. Even if USC has the kind of offense they are expecting, LSU has the ability to keep up with them scoring and their defense should be able to contain them enough.

Bet: Georgia (ML), VT (ML), and LSU (ML)

Units Bet: 1

Odds: +130

Underdog Corner

I really like this West Virginia team coming into this season.

Quarterback Garrett Green and RB CJ Donaldson should be one of the best backfields in the country. They open the season against a good Penn State team, but a team that can struggle with putting teams away. If WVU can keep this game in reach early then I believe that Greene has the talent to win it late.

Bet: WVU (ML)

Units Bet: .5

Odds: +250

Anytime TD Parlay

This parlay is a long shot for a reason. If you do not agree with any of these picks then leave them out and you can still get great odds!

Nicholas Singleton (-114): We know what Penn State wants to do, and Singleton should be able to carry most of the workload this season.

Quinshon Judkins (-260): My favorite transfer of the season! Although he will be in a crowded backfield I can’t imagine they won’t make an effort to get the new guy in the endzone.

Damien Martinez (-114): One of the best players in the country looking to make an impact for his new team against an in-state SEC rival.

Jam Miller (-186): This guy is a stud, if he becomes the new workhorse back for Alabama then I think he could have record-setting type season.

Donovan Edwards (-340): New coach but same ole Michigan.

Tetairoa McMillian (-420): I am not sure how familiar the general public is with this Arizona team, but McMillian might be the best receiver in football.

Bet: Singleton, Judkins, Martinez, Miller, Edwards, McMillian (Anytime TD)

Units Bet:.5

Odds: +1202
