Louisville basketball grad transfer Charles Minlend will play his first game for the Cards.
2020-21 began with a series of tough breaks for Louisville basketball.
The Cardinals began the season without senior captain Malik Williams. Along the way, Louisville has been without sophomore guard Josh Nickelberry due to an injury and senior Carlik Jones due to COVID-19 protocol.
Two weeks ago, against Pitt, Louisville got Nickelberry back for the first time and Jones returned from a tough stint with COVID during an 18-day layoff.
One of final key pieces for the Cardinals is San Francisco graduate transfer Charles Minlend.
The 6’4” guard missed the first 9 games of the season with a knee injury. Head coach Chris Mack mentioned that Minlend saw some setbacks during recovery, but was nearing closer.
However, it appears that as of today, Minlend has been cleared to play.
We saw that Minlend dressed and went through full warm-ups against Kentucky, Boston College, and Virginia Tech. However, he did not get the go-ahead until Wednesday against Wake Forest.
Minlend averaged 14.4 points, 4.7 rebounds, and 1.8 assists for the Dons a season ago.
