Louisville basketball lands a commitment from 2022 forward D’Ante Davis.
Amid uncertain times for Louisville basketball, the program just landed its first commitment of the 2022 class.
Tae Davis pledged to Chris Mack and the Cards on Instagram Saturday night.
The 6’7″ junior from Warren Central in Indianapolis, Indiana is ranked No. 134 in the 2022 class via 247sports composite. Davis holds offers from Indiana, Purdue, Xavier, and Louisville among others.
“I wanted to get it out of the way,” the younger Davis told the Indianapolis Star. “The schools that are here now I know are the ones most interested in me. Those are the schools that have been on me for a while. It’s really that. I can focus on my (high school season).”
Davis is the younger brother of current Louisville basketball freshman Dre Davis.
The Davis brothers’ father, De’Andre, is Tae’s coach at Warren.
If you like Dre so far, you will probably love Tae. The younger Davis is already 6’7,” with a similar game to his brother’s.
At the very least, he brings the style of play that Mack loves as a son of an Indiana high school coach.
What stands out on tape, however, is an already polished player with a great frame. Davis scores at all three levels, shows that he has solid size and athleticism, and is a good passer.
If Davis continues to improve rebounding and passing, he will be another immediate-impact guy for Mack and Louisville.
Plus, if Dre sticks around until his junior year, Louisville basketball could boast its first brother duo since the McCrae brothers in the 80’s. Fun times are ahead for Louisville basketball under Mack.
