A familiar name is about to make his college decision, and has Louisville basketball on his short list.
Louisville basketball is off to a hot start behind surprising play from its true freshmen JJ Traynor and Dre Davis.
The latter, Davis, has assumed a starting role for the Cardinals after injuries forced him into action quickly.
While Dre Davis is doing work on the court for Louisville basketball, his younger brother, Tae is ready to announce his college decision.
The 6’7″ junior from Warren Central in Indianapolis, Indiana is ranked No. 134 in the 2022 class via 247sports composite. Davis holds offers from Indiana, Purdue, Xavier, and Louisville among others.
“I wanted to get it out of the way,” the younger Davis told the Indianapolis Star. “The schools that are here now I know are the ones most interested in me. Those are the schools that have been on me for a while. It’s really that. I can focus on my (high school season).”
Now, Davis has announced that he will be announcing his college decision officially on Saturday night at 7:30 PM ET.
Louisville basketball: About Tae Davis
The Davis brothers are the sons of former Lawrence Central and current Warren Central assistant coach D’Andre Davis. They have a cool-headed approach to the game, crashing the boards and scoring on every level.
Tae is built taller and leaner than his brother, but the similarities in their game and their recruitment are striking.
“Dre has talked to me about recruiting, but not about going where he’s at,” Davis told the Indy Star. “He’s talked to me about the process and different things, how to pick your school and things like that. But he never told me to go here or here or anything like that. He just gave me information and advice on his process. He took me on some of his visits when he first started getting offers and interest and things like that. I learned a whole lot.”
Davis currently has 100 percent of his Crystal Ball predictions on 247Sports predicting him to commit to Louisville.
There is still a long way to go, but Louisville basketball fans could very well see their first sibling duo playing together in a Cardinals uniform since the McCray brothers, Rodney and Scooter, in the 80’s.
