Louisville women’s basketball prepares to send its seniors off on Sunday.
It is that time of the year again. The last home game of the regular season, which means it’s senior day for the Louisville women’s basketball program.
The Cards will welcome Virginia Tech to town on Sunday for the Senior Day game, coming off of a loss to UNC. Louisville came into the season with six seniors on the team, but all will not be participating.
The only true senior on the team, Mykasa Robinson, has already declared she will use her Covid year to return next season. Former UCLA player, and JUCO All American Ahlana Smith also stated her intentions on coming back to Louisville for her Covid year.

On Friday, Jeff Walz and the seniors that will be honored during the game Sunday met with local media. Kianna Smith, Chelsie Hall, and Emily Engstler were in attendance and spoke about what Sunday will mean.
The notable absence was senior Liz Dixon. Coach Walz said Dixon is still weighing her options on whether to come back next season or not. This will be the first Senior Day I know of that has been celebrated without a true senior being honored. All the seniors being honored will be players that have transferred into the program. Smith will be the only player on Senior Day that has been on the team for more than one year.
