Jeff Walz and the Louisville women’s basketball will look to advance to the Elite 8.
The Louisville women’s basketball team made it out of the first weekend of the NCAA tournament with victories over 15th-seeded Marist and seventh-seeded Northwestern.
In both contests, the Cardinals struggled out of the gate and had to rely on comebacks to come out on top. In the round of 32, the team faced an 18-point deficit to Northwestern before squeaking past the Wildcats due to a strong second-half performance.
Now, Jeff Walz’ team will focus on the Sweet 16, where they will match up with the Oregon Ducks. Here’s what you need to know about Louisville’s opponent ahead of the Sunday evening showdown.
