Louisville football freshmen Luke Burgess and Madden Sanker are making headway with a first-of-it’s kind show reviewing local restaurants.
New NCAA NIL (name, image, and likeness) rules have stirred up a variety of opinions across the sports landscape, but two Louisville football freshmen are putting their money where their mouth is.
Luke Burgess and Madden Sanker- Two offensive linemen in their first semester- have teamed up for a first-of-it’s kind “Food Network-style” YouTube show where the duo visits and reviews restaurants in the Louisville area.
The idea started after the 6’8″ Burgess and 6’4″ Sanker began posting their meals on social media, drawing hundreds of suggestions from fans and locals.
Prior to the NCAA allowing athletes to profit off of their name, image, and likeness, it was impermissible for businesses to provide any benefits for athletes- Even if it’s just lunch.
Now that this is legal, restaurants around the city are offering to host the athletes.
Sanker and Burgess made their first official stop for their new show “L&M Eats” at Shenanigans Irish Grille in the Highlands, located in Louisville’s Highlands neighborhood.
In this episode, the guys meet with the owners, learn how to make some signature dishes and get their hands dirty, try their creations, and talk everything from diet to football practice.
