Dan Meske and the Louisville Volleyball program are hot, continuing to knock off ranked ACC opponnets.
The Louisville volleyball team looks to continue a dominant ACC run after beating No. 21 North Carolina 3–1 on Sunday, October 26, and Notre Dame 3–0 on Wednesday, October 29.
Louisville Volleyball added even more accolades to their overflowing cabinet this week. Momentum was set by Hannah Sherman, who tallied 13 block assists—breaking her previous best of 11—and earning ACC Defensive Player of the Week honors.
The list doesn’t stop there. Opposite hitter Kalyssa Blackshear recorded 22 kills this week, 15 of those coming against ranked North Carolina. That performance earned her a second ACC Freshman of the Week award this season.
And if you thought we were done—think again. Setter Neyelis Cabello had an incredible week of her own, collecting 41 assists and 11 digs, giving her a sixth double-double of the season. With numbers like that, Cabello did everything but force the ACC to award her (also for the second time) ACC Setter of the Week.

We Going Baaaack to Back
The Cards close out the week on Sunday, November 1, with a second straight match against the Fighting Irish. This one will be at the KFC Yum! Center, whereas the first matchup was played in South Bend. Louisville and Notre Dame hold a tight all-time series, with the Cards leading 27–23.
Analytics show that Dan Meske and the squad have already done the hard work by winning in South Bend, where the Cardinals were just 10–11 all time. After Wednesday’s win, they evened that record to .500.
At home, however, Louisville holds a strong 13–8 advantage in the series.
This latest victory gives the Cardinals their 10th sweep of the season—just one behind the Dani Busboom Kelly–led Nebraska Cornhuskers, who lead the nation with 11.
The Cards will look to extend their win streak against the Fighting Irish. Can they get number 11?
