Former Louisville basketball star Montrezl Harrell is back in the fold for year three.
The Basketball Tournament (TBT) has been an important cultural movement for Louisville basketball fans.
In two offseasons following the most unpalatable basketball in program history, TBT has been an important reminder of what UofL basketball is supposed to be. A cultural palate cleanser when needed most.
Now, entering year three of TBT participation, The Ville — Louisville’s alumni team — is starting to build its roster.
The newest addition for The Ville is 2024 TBT star Montrezl Harrell.
Harrell joins headliner Russ Smith in the fold for another run at the title.
His electrifying, rim-rocking style of play makes Harrell a crowd favorite, but he is a vital piece for a The Ville team that is likely to run into opponents with aggressive big man play.
Last season, it was noticeable how much size and strength was added to bolster TBT rosters. Harrell, a former NBA 6th-Man of the Year, thrives in physical games, making a living in the dunker spot and as an uber athletic rebounder.
In 2024, Harrell averaged 12.5 points, 7 rebounds, 2 assists, and a block for The Ville.
With a tandem of Harrell and Smith as building blocks, who should The Ville look to add around them? Let us know in the comments.
