Keeping tabs on former Louisville basketball (and 502) stars in the NBA Summer League.
The 2021 NBA Summer League is officially underway as hundreds of players attempt to earn their keep in the NBA, including several former Louisville basketball stars and 502 natives. As all 30 teams compete over a 9-day period, rookies, journeymen, young players on rosters trying to get more playing time, and international players look to impress scouts enough to earn a coveted roster spot.
Several former Cards and 502 pros, including recently drafted David Johnson, will take the floor over the 9-day event. The list includes Jordan Nwora, fresh off of his impressive Olympic feat, along with last year’s star Carlik Jones. Also looking to earn NBA looks are former Cards and international players Steven Enoch and Anas Mahmoud.
Former NBA Draft picks and Louisville natives Jay Scrubb and Romeo Langford also are looking to earn more minutes on teams competing at a high-level. Both have incredible amounts of promise but have yet to receive a real opportunity in meaningful minutes.
The Summer League is a great time for those who love watching the NBA and College Basketball. For those who don’t, we’ve put together a tracker that will be updated at the end of each day.
So have former Cards and 502 natives fared this far? Let’s take a look.
