Getting to know Louisville women’s basketball 2022 commit Alexia Mobley.
With signing day just around the corner, that means its time for me to start getting busy. I thought now would be a good time for CardNation to get to know the Louisville women’s basketball recruiting class. When I decided to do this series I knew there was only one place to start. I had to start with Louisville women’s basketball’s first and longest commit, Alexia Mobley.
Although Mobley is a 2022 recruit, she graduated in May a year early and was her class valedictorian.
The 2022 Reynoldsburg, Ohio native is the number 31 overall player, and number 7 wing in the class of 2022.
Mobley has been committed to the Cards since early December 2019. Since that commitment, Mobley has shown over and over again that her pledge is solid. Mobley has become a Louisville basketball fan favorite in the 2022 recruiting class with her presence on Twitter and her interactions with the fan base. I caught up with Mobley recently with a few questions so Louisville women’s basketball fans can hear from her.
BT: How did it feel to be a valedictorian when you graduated a year early?
AM: “I really couldn’t believe it. As I have shared my struggles growing up, I just kept working as hard as I could. I never thought I could be that. I just took one quarter at a time. It was very shocking, but it was an honor.”
What are you going to do with this extra year?
“I will take this year and focus on developing my individual skills, and get my strength ready to compete at the next level.”
What most appealed to you about UofL?
“The family atmosphere. I love how passionate the fans are about Louisville women’s basketball. The coaching staff (is) all very real, and you can tell they really care about the players.”
Have you gotten to know the current players?
“Yes, I have talked with all of them. They are all really down-to-earth and funny.”
Have you talked to any of your fellow commits?
“Yes, I have gotten to know all the commits. Several of them I have met through playing, or we are blue stars together.”
What do you do outside of basketball?
“Outside of basketball, I like to cook, listen to music a lot, and spend time with family. We are really competitive and have crazy game nights. It goes down for real.”
What is your playlist to get hype before games?
“My “get-hyped” playlist is a lot of Christian rap. It gets my spirit and my body ready for battle for real.
I like artists like Lecrae, Trip Lee, KB, and NF.”
What year do you plan on throwing down your first dunk?
“I got plans to throw down my first dunk ASAP. Of course, I’m going to make it because I think Coach Walz might kill me if I miss.”
How is it going to feel the first home game playing in front of 9,000 fans?
“It’s going to feel amazing. I’ve been to several games before Covid, and it was crazy.
I was looking down at the team thinking I can’t believe I’ll be one of them. I just can’t wait.”
How does it feel already being such a fan favorite of CardNation with your Twitter presence?
“I really can’t believe the support and people I have met from CardNation. I just wanted to document my journey. The ups and the downs, like a journal to kind of inspire the girls like me coming up. It ended up also giving CardNation a chance to get to know me, and I’m real excited about being a part of it all.”
Are there any last words or a message you want to leave for Cards fans?
“Man I’m so excited for my future as a Card. There is no fan base like CardNation. I’m going to be working so hard to get ready to join the best team in the country to help bring in a championship. L’s Up” With her Twitter presence, and interactions with all the fans we are all as excited to have her here as she is to be here. Keep an eye out for more interviews to come soon.

I’ve been intrigued and impressed with this Young Lady. Both as an athlete and a person. I’m looking forward to her officially joining our team. Hopefully sooner than later!
