Week 2 Recap

Season Starting Money: $1,000

Week 2 Starting Money: $1,069

Going into week 2 of college football, I was very confident about the Tulane upset pick parlayed with the under, but we got word a couple of hours before kickoff that Tulane’s starting Quarterback was out. Because of that, I didn’t end up making the bet. But even with a backup Quarterback they were still in position to win the game late. Missed opportunity, but that’s life in this world.

I also faded the Colorado hype and took the under on their game with Nebraska. Early in that game it looked like the under was a lock, but Colorado ended up making us sweat it out as the game ended. At the end of the day we got a $100 pay out.

Finally, the Player Prop Parlay had me fuming to end the day on Saturday. We were able to get the Audric Estime TD early in the second quarter which left us only needing John Rhys Plumlee to get in the endzone. Not only was he victim of the most unlucky redzone appearances I have ever seen, but he also had his own coach working against him.

Every time he had the opportunity to punch it in they would bring in a wildcat QB and it failed almost every time they tried it. PSA to all coaches, stop taking the ball out of your best players hands.

Week 3

Week 3 Starting Money: $1,019

Going into week 3 there are not a lot of good games and I do not personally like guessing if a bad team can cover a 34-point spread. Most of the value this week seems to be in lower tiered games like Liberty and Buffalo, but I don’t have a ton of interest in betting those games either.

Instead, I would rather spend this week learning about some of the better teams and trying to pinpoint player props that make that the most sense.

Florida State vs Boston College

The premier ACC team takes on the worst ACC team and Florida State should have no issues with scoring touchdown. Last week Boston College played Holy Cross and they ran all over the BC defense. Holy Cross ran for 264 Yards and four rushing touchdowns including two from their Quarterback. The week before that Northern Illinois was also able to rush for three touchdown against BC including one from their Quarterback. I love the way the FSU run game matches up against Boston College and I think you could attack the touchdown prop however you wanted. Benson has a -170 line to score, and Travis has a -120 line. I am not opposed to betting them individually, putting them together, or parlaying them with a different game. The Travis touchdown is a little riskier, so I will bet him here and save Benson for a parlay.

Bet: Jordan Travis anytime TD

Units Bet: .5

Odds: -120

Colorado State vs Colorado

Last week I advocated for betting against the Colorado hype, and it paid off. This week I could not be more opposed to that strategy. Colorado State coming off a game where they gave up 50 points to an average Washington State team decided it would be a good idea to take a personal shot at Deion Sanders. Why did they think this was a good idea? I have no clue. Colorado might score 80 this game and you can pick and choose what players you want to bet on to score a touchdown. The two that stand out the most to me are Travis Hunter at -245 and Dylan Edwards at -390. I will bet Hunter individually and save Edwards for a parlay.

Bet: Travis Hunter anytime TD

Units Bet: .5

Odds: -245

Louisville vs Indiana

It is so hard for me to separate rational and irrational when it comes to betting on Louisville. I am fully admitting that what I am getting ready to recommend is founded more in my personal belief about this team then any rational reason. I still believe that we have not seen the best of Jack Plummer and that we are due for him to really settle into the offense and start to take command. His passing yardage prop has steadily climbed since it was released, and I am going to continue the trend and bet the over 252.5 for passing yards. This is the game our collective opinion changes on Plummer.

Bet: Jack Plummer over 252.5 passing yards

Units Bet: .5

Odds: -115

Player Prop Parlay

There are so many players this week that can be targeted as anytime touchdown scorers and you should pick and choose the spots that you are most comfortable with attacking. I am personally all over the Florida State run game and the Colorado passing game. I also love the Washington passing game and the Penn State running game. My personal favorite are Trey Benson (-170), Dylan Edwards (-390), Nicholas Singleton (-210), and Rome Odunze (-320).

Bet: Benson, Edwards, and Singleton anytime TD

Units Bet: .5

Odds: +194
