Louisville basketball: Malik Williams to return in 2021-22

Louisville basketball senior center Malik Williams will exercise his extra year of eligibility and remain with the program.

Louisville basketball has a lot of questions about roster turnover entering the offseason.

This morning, we went over all of the changes and potential future changes to the Louisville basketball program.

Now, we can add yet another big decision to that list.

Senior big man Malik Williams officially announced that he will return to Louisville in 2021-22.

This comes on the heels of an injury-ridden season where Williams played in only three games.

Thanks to the NCAA granting seniors an extra year of elligibility due to COVID-19 protocols, Williams can return to Louisville and be on scholarship without counting towards the Cardinals scholarship limit.

This is massive news for a Louisville frontcourt that would have been extremely thin without him next season.

Here’s to a year of impeccable health for Williams.
