The Louisville women’s basketball’s 2021-22 non-conference schedule has been released. A quick look at who the Cards face.
Louisville women’s basketball released the 2021-22 non-conference schedule on Friday. Just like in previous years, Coach Walz does not duck from stiff competition. The schedule will be packed with six teams that made post-season play last year, including five that played in the NCAA tournament.
Louisville finished last season with a 26-4 record and won its fourth straight ACC regular-season title. The cards went into the NCAA tournament as a 2 seed and made the Elite Eight. Now let’s dive into the schedule and see how it stacks up.
The November Slate
Louisville women’s basketball will begin their season with an exhibition game against Union College at home on Thursday, November 4th.
Louisville women’s basketball will kick off their regular season on Friday, November 12th in Sioux Falls, SD. The Cards will be playing in The Invitational, and matchup with last season’s runner-up Arizona Wildcats.
Louisville will play a pair of home games after The Invitational. The first will be November 16th versus crosstown for Bellarmine University. The Cards will then host UT-Martin on Thursday, November 18th.
The Cards head out west with a three-game road stretch to end November. Louisville will head to Seattle on Saturday, November 20th to play the Washington Huskies. Louisville then heads to San Louis Obispo to take on the Cal Poly Mustangs on Tuesday, November 23rd. The Cards closes the road trip in Fort Collins, CO on Sunday, November 28th against the Colorado State Rams.
The December Slate
Louisville will begin December back home on a four-game homestand. The first will be Thursday, December 2nd versus the Michigan Wolverines. This game versus Michigan will be a part of the Big 10/ACC Challenge. Louisville will then host Belmont University on Sunday, December 5th.
The Cards will take a week off before returning to the court on Sunday, December 12th to host in-state rival Kentucky Wildcats in the Jimmy V Classic. Louisville will close the homestand on Thursday, December 16th versus EKU.
Louisville will close out their non-conference games on the road on Sunday, December 19th. The Cards will travel to Uncasville, CT to face the Connecticut Huskies in the Basketball Hall of Fame Women’s Showcase.
